On Monday December 13, 2010 Texas House of Representatives: Speaker of the House Joe Straus welcomed visitors to Haven for Hope.
A total of 22 visitors from various agencies in Houston (listed below) took advantage of a beautiful day to tour the Haven Campus.
Texas House of Representatives Armando Walle District 140, Speaker of the House Joe Straus and Texas House of Representatives John E. Davis District 129 share opening remarks prior to touring Haven for Hope.
Texas House of Representatives Jose Menendez District 124, shares the history of successes in collaboration and leveraged efficiencies to visitors from Houston about to tour Haven for Hope.
With an incredibly gorgeous day as a backdrop, Megan Oswald leads the delegation on to the Haven for Hope Campus. In addition to Representatives Menendez, Davis, and Walle tour members included: Jennifer Deegan (Senior Health and Human Services Advisior, Speaker Straus), Katharine Ligon (Mental Health America of Greater Houston), Darrin Hall (Director of Governmental Relations, Houston Mayor Annise Parker), Laura Martin (Representative Armando Walle), Sonia Lopez (Representative Ana Hernandez Luna), Grant Kennedy (Houston's St. Joseph's House), Whitney Flemming (United Way of Greater Houston), Janis Bane (Harris County District Attorney's Office), Lillian Ortiz (Mental Health America of Greater Houston), Linda Cantu (Bristol-Myers Squibb,Healthcare Alliance Liaison), and Council Member representatives from the Office of Houston Council Member Stephen Costello.
Director Kathryn Jones provides an overview of the Sobering, Detox and Intensive Addiction Disorders services offered at Restoration Center.
Crisis and Jail Diversion Director Aaron Diaz (not pictured), Crisis Care Clinical Manager Jeanie Paradise and Hope Center Medical Director Dr. Pat Carrion introduce the Crisis Care Centers innovative psychiatric crisis care services.
